The Montreal Canadiens have announced that Victor Mete will be a healthy scratch tonight, against the Nashville Predators. Habs' head coach Claude Julien confirmed the news a couple of hours before the start of the game.
Here's what he told journalists, earlier tonight:
"We already talked about it, he's been playing a lot over the past few months. We like to give young players an opportunity to watch a game from the press box, it really helps. You see a lot of things from up there. This is the discussion I had with Mete tonight. We will see him with a Habs jersey again, because he's a great hockey player."
Mete was on the only defenseman with less than 10 minutes on the ice last night. He played for exactly 9 minutes and 47 seconds.
Would it be better to just send him back to his junior team instead of keeping him with the Canadiens?
