A veteran forward may have the opportunity to see his career come full circle with a shot at the Stanley Cup.

According to TSN's Gary Lawless, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators may be in the process of striking a deal that would send veteran Blue Jackets' forward Scott Hartnell to the Music City.

The Blue Jackets appear to have named their price for the gritty forward, and covet certain pieces necessary to their upcoming rebuild.

Columbus would like to see either forward Kevin Fiala, or Swedish winger Viktor Arvidsson come back in exchange for Hartnell. Should the Predators be unwilling to part ways with either of these forwards, the Blue Jackets would also consider letting Hartnell go for draft picks.

Acquiring a player like Hartnell would be an ideal situation for the team, as they prepare for a long playoff run. Hartnell remains a consistent player and is in the midst of a 20-goal season in 2015-16.

Hartnell is also a proven playoff performer, and has been clutch at times in the postseason. In 91 career postseason appearances, Hartnell has amassed 19 goals and 28 assists for 47 points.

A character player like Hartnell would love to get a chance to win an elusive Stanley Cup, and would no doubt be an extremely useful addition to the Predators.

This is one trade the Predators may pull the trigger on shortly.
