The Vancouver Canucks are having some serious difficulty finding the back of the net as of late.

Despite again outshooting their opponents, the Canucks were shut out by the Ottawa Senators and their newly-acquired goaltender Mike Condon. This marks the fourth time the Canucks have been held scoreless in their last five games.

The argument can be made that the Canucks have been unlucky after facing a series of hot goalies. The Canuck fired 42 shots on Montreal Canadiens' goaltender Carey Price in the game prior, only to be stumped by the world class netminder.

However, Canucks' coach Willie Desjardins refused to make excuses following Thursday's clunker, and believes his team needs to start getting desperate for goals.

"We have to score. We can't feel okay anymore that we had chances. We have to have more urgency to our game", said Desjardins.

Canucks' forward Henrik Sedin echoed his coaches sentiments.

"We again created enough chances for a few goals. It's only game 11 and we're frustrated, but we'll work through it."

The team's scoring woes have been well documented in the beginning of this season. The Canucks are scoring at a success rate of 4.2 percent at five-on-five play and 5.44 percent in all situations, and what's worse, only eight Canucks' players have managed to score a goal thus far.

The Canucks will get a chance to break the cycle with a softer matchup on Saturday in Toronto.
