With the training camp underway and the season rapidly approaching, Claude Julien specified that his plan for an upgraded defensive corps is “with our play [on the ice],” he told Joe Haggerty.

“The game evolves and we’re going to evolve right along with it, so I think we have the ability to make our D-corps better this year with our play. That’s where we’re going to start,” explained Julien.

With the summer coming to an end, and no significant movements happening (so far) to the blue liners of the Bruins, and only a pair of top-four defensemen (Torey Krug and Zdeno Chara), one must accept that the team will embark the season with the same status quo, and coach Julien is expecting better play from them.
