Cole Caufield makes John Tortorella crack a smile.

Long time National Hockey League head coach John Tortorella has built up a reputation for himself as one of the toughest, most rigid, and most demanding coaches in the entire league over the course of a lengthy and successful career.

It is for that reason that when, on relatively rare occasions, Tortorella let's the other side of his personality shine through that fans and pundits alike tend to respond in such a positive manner.

On Saturday night at the Bell Centre, Tortorella provided us with one of those moments in what seemed to be a very unusual scenario. Tortorella and his Philadelphia Flyers contested a hard fought game against the Montreal Canadiens and it would be one that would come right down to the wire with the game decided when there were less than 2 seconds remaining on the game clock.

It would be young Montreal Canadiens star forward Cole Caufield who would put the game away for the Habs with only 1.9 seconds remaining on the game clock. First, here's a look at the goal that ended the game.

While you might expect Tortorella to be immensely frustrated in such a scenario, the veteran head coach had quite the opposite reaction to his team losing on a buzzer beater. Whether it was his admiration for young Cole Caufield, or just a smile of disbelief at how things played out, there was no mistaking a genuine grin on the face of the Flyers' bench boss.
