It's only been a few days, but Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ian Cole has already heard his name so many times in the trade chatter. The rumors begun a few days ago, when it was mentioned that Cole's agent was looking at destinations for his client.

Pens GM Jim Rutherford has tried to deny the rumors, but many insiders believe he would move the 28-year-old if the Penguins could land help in between the pipes or to fill a void at centre on the third line.

Cole is trying his best to deal with all the rumors, as he mentioned in an interview with Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

You just try to do your job while you’re here or as long as you’re here or whatever the case may be,” Cole said. “You just try to go out, work hard in practice and help the team win hockey games.

You can look at it as an unfortunate situation but one that you can try to take advantage of to get better. Or you can mope around, be miserable and be a distraction for your team, detract from the game that they’re trying to play.

“I think the only professional way to go about it is the former.”

Cole has been a healthy scratch for the last three contests, but he could return to the lineup shortly. And he surely has the right attitude.
