Concussed star player looks to extend career despite injuries.

When speaking of Clarke MacArthur, you can't go around the fact he missed more than 500 days with the Sens following a nasty concussion. He was away for so long, but then came back with his team to contribute to the deep playoff run they had. In fact, he picked off right where he left his career and pushed the pace like nothing happened to help the Sens reach the third round this year.

However, the 32 years old faced the inevitable questions about his health and future in the league during clean-out day. He had this for an answer.

“I don’t know what the play is,” MacArthur said to the Ottawa Citizen. “I just want to take a week or two and see how I feel. I still love playing the game. I’ve got to talk to the doctors and take a week or so and see where I go.”

At the same time, MacArthur disclosed a neck injury he suffered during the first round against Boston what's the plan going forward.

“I feel pretty good,” MacArthur said. “I just want to make sure I’m all sorted out. It’s my neck, not anything else. It should be good. From the first round (against Boston), I could feel it. I will get an MRI and go from there.”

The good news for him is he still has 2 years left on his 5 years deal with the Sens. Plenty of time to put money aside for retiring in style after a successful career.
