Drama seems to follow certain teams around. At least, that happens to be the case for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

While the talk of the NHL during most of last season was regarding where Steven Stamkos would sign as an unrestricted free agent, the talented forward Jonathan Drouin made headlines when he publicly asked to be traded. He subsequently refused to report to the team’s AHL affiliate the Syracuse Crunch but joined the Bolts towards the end of last year.

Head coach Jon Cooper was once again confident that the 21-year-old winger would stick around, and expects Drouin to continue developing and succeed:

“He knows what’s expected of him… we think he’s just going to get better from here,” Cooper told NHL.com.

Drouin posted 14 points in 17 playoff games.
