Conflicting reports on Joe Thornton's health heading into the playoffs.

San Jose Sharks veteran forward Joe Thornton missed multiple games to close out the season with what is believed to be a knee injury, and now there are doubts about whether or not he will be available for the start of the playoffs.

Despite having said that there was "no doubt" that he would suit up for Game 1 of the Sharks first round playoff match up against the Oilers, Sharks reporter Paul Gackle is now reporting that Thornton did not take reps with the team's top power-play unit at practice today. Gackle believes that this "suggests he isn't going tomorrow," something that would be big blow to the Sharks.

While this is not an official statement from the team, leading even more credence to Gackle's speculation is the fact that Thornton altered his earlier statement and instead listed himself as "day to day" today.
