Connor McDavid reached an important milestone this weekend!
Keystone Press

Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid reached an important milestone on Saturday, in a 3-2 overtime win against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 21-year old forward registered a pair of assists on his birthday, giving him the sixth fewer career games needed for a player to reach 200 points over the last 25 years. McDavid has 15 goals and 37 assists for a total of 52 points in 46 games played so far this season.

Drafted first overall by the Oilers in 2015, McDavid has 200 points (61 goals and 139 assists) in 173 games played in the NHL so far. He added nine points in 13 playoff games last spring.

The Oilers are having a difficult season so far, and they will need McDavid to be at the top of his game if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. They are currently sixth in the Metropolitan division with a record of 20-23-3. Edmonton are enjoying their bye week at the moment, and they will play their next game against the Vancouver Canucks next Saturday. The Oilers are 3-6-1 over their last ten games, but they won their last two matchups, so let's hope they will keep that momentum alive after their week off.
