Controversial decision in Toronto tonight!

Tonight's game between the Maple Leafs and the Capitals was truly an important one. The Capitals needed to win absolutely to stay in the race and knock out the young and competitive Maple Leafs down the line. The game started with an avalanche of goals and the frantic pace was kept all along.

However, one controversial call was made when goalie Frederik Andersen was interfered on a Caps goal. Nicklas Backstrom was trying to put the screen on but was pushed toward Andersen by Jake Gardiner. On top of that, Andersen himself seemed to have clinched Backstrom's leg to show further obstruction.

To top it off, we see Ovechkin receiving a good old double check near the net.

The decision to overturn the goal was well received in Toronto, but people in Washington went crazy.

In the end, the Caps won the game 5-4 but it could have been a lot simpler.
