The early goings of this game have been wild but perhaps the wildest play happened on the Blue Jackets’ opening goal, which cut the Bruins’ 2-0 lead down to 2-1.

Did you see it? Tough to see from this angle, but the puck actually leaves the playing surface and hits the mesh, which should warrant a whistle from the officials. Clearly, the refs missed it though and Panarin was allowed to score while the Bruins players stood around confused.

So… we can use video review for plays that are offside by a millimetre but we can’t use it for plays like this? This league makes no sense…
