Cooper makes cryptic comments about possible Stamkos' return for Game 3

The puck drops on Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final this evening and Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos is reportedly "inching closer" to a return according to head coach Jon Cooper.

Check it out:

So... is he in or out, Coop? Give it to us straight!

For what it's worth, Stamkos has been skating with his team during practice days and reportedly DID take the gameday, morning skate with his teammates earlier today. While Cooper and the Lightning could merely be using Stamkos' presence as a smoke screen, you can't help but think of what a boost he'd provide to the team if indeed he makes his return to the lineup.

Forward Ondrej Palat has done a remarkable job of filling in for Stamkos during his absence, but let's get real... there are very few people in the world who can shoot a puck the way Stamkos does. If the Bolts can get him into the lineup, even just for some powerplay duty on the sidewall, they'll get a serious leg up on the Dallas Stars. Stay tuned.
