Coveted 25+ goal scorer headed to Pittsburgh?

2018 is underway and you better believe the Pittsburgh Penguins' quest for a centre is not over yet.

With the Feb. 26 trade deadline coming up, Pens GM Jim Rutherford is reportedly active on the market, looking to land a centre and allow him team to push for yet another playoff run.

Several teams are on the lookout for a centre as well, and the Ottawa Senators could benefit from the scarce market and shop Derick Brassard. While some reporters believe he is not going anywhere, Sens general manager Pierre Dorion might be willing to pull off this move for the future of his club.

Brassard, who has played for Pens head coach Mike Sullivan when they were both part of the New York Rangers, could ask to be moved to Pittsburgh and play for his former assistant coach. The thrill of playing alongside Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin might also sway the 30-year-old.

One thing is sure, Brassard's name is buzzing in trade chatter...

We will definitely have to keep an eye on Brassard, as he may be on the move.

In 37 games in Ottawa this season, Brassard has tallied 10 goals and 24 points.
