Crosby makes a stunning confession about this season, and perhaps his NHL future!

Pittsburgh Penguins' captain Sidney Crosby is an incredible offensive talent in the National Hockey League, but before his career is over he would like to showcase his skills in a very different fashion.

During an interview on Tuesday Crosby spoke about an incident earlier in the year in which he gave serious consideration to stepping in between the pipes for the Penguins, yes really.

“There was one time either early this year or last year, we had to call an emergency goalie,” Crosby said as per Sportsnet. “One of our goalies got hurt and I think Flower was sick… so we had somebody in the lineup ready to go in as the third. I told them if anything ever happened, I’d love to get the nod."

While it's incredibly disappointing that we didn't get to witness that, it doesn't sound like it's outside of the realm of possibility even now, with Crosby admitting that he would love to play a game in goal before his career his over.

“I’d love to play one game in the NHL [as a goaltender]. We’ll see. There’s still some time left if it ever came down to it.”

It's an absolutely amazing confession from Crosby, and one we would love to see fulfilled before his career is over, however we aren't so sure that the Penguins would be willing to make it happen given the risk of injury it would pose to their star forward.
