The Pittsburgh Penguins might have gotten a tough blow earlier this week when it was revealed that nine of their players had tested positive for COVID-19, it hasn’t stopped them for getting ready to face the Montreal Canadiens in a best-of-5 series at the start of August.

On top of that, it does not look like captain Sidney Crosby is one of the players who tested positive, he who was first on the ice Tuesday, showing up early to get some time alone to shoot at the net.

Team insider Josh Yohe of The Athletic was lucky enough to arrive early as well and witnessed what makes Crosby so greatand will be a hassle for the Canadiens during the series.

“Crosby rocketed shot after shot, first wrist shots, then backhand offerings. Again and again.
This is nothing new and it’s something I’ve witnessed hundreds of times while covering him for more than a decade. But it was a reminder of what makes him so great. I’ve heard from many people in his inner circle and in the organization who insist they’ve never seen Crosby so inspired, so hungry. If Tuesday morning was any indication, those observations were accurate.
From watching him alone to watching him with his teammates, he looks locked in for the second day of camp. He’s obviously been putting the work in during the past few months, and watching him Tuesday was something else. Crosby looked utterly dominant in every drill and in every facet of the game.”

To make things worse for the Habs, Crosby was joined by teammate Evgeni Malkin, who is just as ready to get back to action and allow his Penguins to move forward into the postseason.

We wonder if Carey Price feels the pressure to compete against Crosby and this teammates… Maybe the star goalie should show up earlier to practices from now on…
