There was more and more good news when it came to star forward Sidney Crosby and the possibility of his return to the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup tonight in Colorado.

However, hours prior to the game, head coach Mike Sullivan announced that Crosby did not skate on Friday as he was supposed and won’t be in the lineup against the Avalanche, because he does not fit well.

Crosby, who had sports hernia surgery Nov. 14, has been practicing with the team and traveled with the Penguins to Vegas, though he did not suit up for the game on Tuesday night.

When the Penguins placed Joseph Blandisi on waivers on Wednesday, many pundits believed it meant Crosby was ready for action. He reportedly did not skate either on Thursday.

The fact that he is not feeling well enough to skate on Friday might be a sign that he’s suffered a setback in his recovery. We will hopefully know more after the game.
