Crosby talks about his most disgusting superstition!

It is a well known fact across the National Hockey League, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is one of the most superstitious player around. 

The guy calculates every single aspect of the pregame preparation, from food to equipment, and the superstar revealed some disturbing - nay, disgusting details one of his rituals. 

On the air with the Spittin Chiclets for their popular podcast, Crosby revealed that he has been wearing and playing professional hockey with the same jockstrap ever since he put it on in the Midget ranks! 

The Pens captain is quite aware that this piece of equipment is in very bad shape, but gave credits to the team’s equipment manager, who has spend time fixing it throughout the years so Sid doesn’t have to change it. 

Crosby is celebrating his 32nd birthday today and so he has been wearing that same ugly disgusting jockstrap for the past 17 years! 

You’d think he would offer himself a great gift by getting a new one by now, but superstitions are way more important for Crosby. 

We kinda feel bad for the poor teammates sitting next to it, though…
