On Wednesday, the Vegas Golden Knights revealed their 2017-18 jersey numbers for players currently under National Hockey League contracts, and already some fans might see some controversy.

Last season, New York Islanders forward Josh Ho-Sang was criticized for picking Mario Lemieux's famous No. 66, while the rest of the League had refused for years to lay a hand on it.

Now, another Pittsburgh Penguins star will know how it feels... Sidney Crosby won't be the only No. 87 in the NHL next season. Since 2010, only two players had worn No.87, Liam O’Brien and David Musil, but they only have played 14 and 4 games respectively. So when fans see No. 87, it is Crosby.

But they will have to get used to Vegas Golden Knights's Vadim Shypachyov. He wore No. 87 back home in the KHL and picked the same number for his Vegas jersey.

Crosby might be more comfortable with Shipachyov's choice since he started his career while Donald Brashear and Pierre Turgeon still had No. 87 on their backs.
