Hradec Králové defenseman Filip Pavlik of the Czech Extraliga has unofficially shattered Zdeno Chara’s hardest shot record of 108.8 MPH with a 111.85 MPH blast.
Chara, who stands 6’9”, 250 pounds set the NHL record of 108.8 MPH at the 2012 NHL All-Star Game skills competition was just bested by Pavlik who stands just 6’0” and 198 pounds. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Pavlík has blasted 9 goals and recorded 19 assists this season, setting a career-high in points.
