Dahlin slams Leafs when asked where he’d like to be traded

It’s been a relatively successful rookie campaign for 2018 first overall selection Rasmus Dahlin. The Buffalo Sabres defenseman has an impressive eight goals and 40 points in 74 games this season and has played like a veteran well beyond his 18 years of age.

Unfortunately for Dahlin and the Sabres, it appears as though the team will NOT qualify for a playoffs spot in 2018-19 even after rattling off a 10 game win streak earlier this season. It appears that the Sabres will miss the post season for an eighth consecutive season… meanwhile their division rival Toronto Maple Leafs are considered legitimate Stanley Cup contenders, despite some recent stumbles.

With Dahlin on the blue line and Jack Eichel up front, the Sabres have should have a bright future. But with the Leafs boasting talented young players like Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, Morgan Rielly and William Nylander just across the border, you couldn’t really blame Dahlin for feeling a bit jealous. The kid’s not having it though…

During a Swedish language interview, Dahlin was was asked if he had to be traded today, which team would he want to go to, his answer was absolutely priceless.

’’I want to stay in Buffalo but I'll answer it like this, anything but Toronto…’’

Perfect. I think this kid is going to fit in around Buffalo juuuuuuust fine.
