''Dart Guy'' enters Leaf's legend.

He became an instant sensation on Saturday.

Technically, Carlton the Bear is the official Toronto Maple Leafs mascot. Unofficially, the Leafs fans have appointed a slightly less amicable face of the Leafs playoff run: Dart Guy.

He traveled all the way from Ontario to D.C. for Game 2 of Toronto’s playoff series against the Washington Capitals because of course, there was no way he was going to miss the Leafs first playoff win in four years. They made him wait for it, first through one nail-biting overtime period, then another. But by the time Toronto took home a 4-3 victory, Dartman was almost as big of a star as the Leafs themselves.

Jason “Dart Guy” Maskalow has seen his face take over social media, catapulted to instant celebrity status amongst Leafs Nation. He’s more than happy to be a part of the Leafs post-season run. Dartman will be in attendance and likely be sharing some of the spotlight in Game 3 as the series shifts to Toronto.

He may be an unlikely pick for the face of a franchise’s playoff run, but who knows, maybe something about that shaved head, epic blue beard, and flaking face paint that push the Leafs past the Capitals to tied the series 1-1.

There are stranger hockey superstitions out there…probably.

Dart Guy will be cheering on the Maple Leafs in Toronto for Game 3 against the Capitals on Monday, April 17th.
