David Krejci forced to leave game vs Flyers with knee injury

Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy with an update on veteran David Krejci’s health following last night’s ugly looking injury.

In case you missed it last night, Boston Bruins forward David Krejci left his team’s contest against the Philadelphia Flyers with an apparent lower body injury. The 33 year old Krejci played just two shifts in the first period of the game being being was ruled out for the rest of the contest. 

Krejci appeared to be favouring his left knee after an awkward collision with Flyers defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere.

Ouch… not pretty.

Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy updated the Boston media following last night’s game and, while he wouldn’t confirm the severity of the injury he did say that he does not feel that it’s serious.

It’s expected that team doctors will fully examine Krejci later today with a full announcement to come on the severity of his injury later this week. Fingers crossed, Bruins fans.
