One of the National Hockey League's top insiders has speculated about a truly blockbuster trade.

In a recent interview on Sportsnet's 590 the Fan, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman speculated on a huge trade between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Winnipeg Jets, a trade that would see Penguins' goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury traded for Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba.

“Personally – you talked about Fleury earlier. I think a Trouba-for-Fleury deal would be perfect for both of those teams..."

While Friedman is confident that both teams would be agreeable to such a trade. there may be an issue regarding Fleury's willingness to accept a trade to Winnipeg.

"I’m not sure that Fleury wants to play in Winnipeg and it might just be a pipe dream of an observation from me," he said as per Nichols on Hockey.

It's hard to predict how likely this trade is to come to fruition as it depends entirely on the whims of Fleury.
