For Brad Hunt it's been a tough battle to find a consistent spot on a National Hockey League roster, and while he was given the best oppurtunity of his career this season as a member of the St. Louis Blues, that opportunity appears to be at an end.

The undrafted 28-year-old had only appeared in 21 career games prior to this season, all of them with a very bad Edmonton Oilers team, but after a number of injuries forced the Blues to call up some depth from the minors, Hunt got his chance.

It resulted in by far the most productive stretch of his career with Hunt accounting for 1 goal and 4 assists over 9 games with St. Louis, good for 5 of his 8 total career points, but with the Blues now getting health Hunt once again finds himself on the outside looking in.

TSN's James Mirtle has reported that Hunt is now on the waiver wire, and it would be great for Hunt if a team claimed him and gave him a chance to continue producing this season. How likely that is after his 9 game showcase is unclear.
