Today the city of Toronto says ‘goodbye’ to one of its most beloved citizens. Legendary Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Johnny Bower passed away on Boxing Day last week at the age of 93 after a brief battle with pneumonia.

Later today at Air Canada Centre, the home of the Leafs, Bower will be memorialized with a tribute from the team, the city and his family. If you wish to attend the event, it will be held at 3 p.m., with entry to the building through Gate 1 (how fitting) in the Galleria opening at 2 p.m. If you can’t attend the event in person, you can also watch it live on TSN starting at 2:30.

It’s expected that many of Bower’s teammates from the 1960s Stanley Cup years will attend, including Dave Keon, Frank Mahovlich, and Ron Ellis. Official NHL representation has not been released but it’s expected that many of Bower’s former opposing players will be in attendance to show their respects.
