It sounds like the Detroit Red Wings are planning to make a major move in the offseason.

TSN Insider Darren Dreger stated during a recent Insider Trading segment that Ken Holland is looking to move Pavel Datsyuk's $7.5 million dollar contract off his books, but it might cost him. Dreger stated that he may have to give up a Tomas Jurco or Teemo Pulkkinen in order to make that happen.

With that said there's a clear motivation behind these moves from Holland, according to TSN insider Bob McKenzie the Wings general manager is aiming for the biggest name on the free agent market this summer, Steven Stamkos.

"The Detroit Red Wings are most definitely looking at Steven Stamkos as an unrestricted free agent option."

This leaves Holland roughly four weeks to find someone to take on that Datsyuk contract.
