Detroit's big win helps them move up the standings!

The Detroit Red Wings are in the fight for their lives right now. They are trying to reach the playoffs for the 25th consecutive season. Tonight they took a big step in trying to make that happen by beating the Toronto Maple Leafs. With the win, Detroit passed Boston to take over 3rd place in the Atlantic division. Boston does have a game in hand, they play Chicago tomorrow.

Jimmy Howard was back in nets for Detroit and helped them pick up back to back wins. Yes it was Toronto but every game is so important right now, no matter who the opponent is. These two wins will definitely give the Wings some confidence and they will need it because their next game is against Philadelphia and then they play Boston the following night. Those two games will definitely decide where Detroit will end up depending on the outcome.

Detroit will now be able to rest till April 6th when they face the Flyers. They will need to take that time to focus on what is at stake and to get ready for war because a birth in the playoffs will pretty much be on the line.
