In case you missed it, the Vegas Golden Knights finally put the Nikita Gusev drama to rest by trading his rights to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a 2nd and 3rd round draft picks.

The Devils then subsequently signed Gusev to a two year contract worth $4.5 million per season.

The 27 year old Gusev has played the entirety of his professional career in the KHL and was the Russian league’s MVP in 2018-19 with 17 goals and 82 points in 62 games. 

Gusev was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft but ultimately never left Russia until now. His rights were acquired by Vegas from Tampa Bay during the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft.
