Did Bowman make one of his worst trades as Hawks GM?

It looks like the Chicago Blackhawks have made a decision on their blueline for tonight's matchup against the Nashville Predators.

By all appearances, Cody Franson will be the one to take Connor Murphy's spot in the lineup.

Murphy, the former 1st round pick acquired in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes, has had no impact on the scoresheet through 4 games played, and doesn't seem to have gained the favor of head coach Joel Quenneville.

Murphy wasn't acquired to be an offensive presence, and his counterpart in the trade, Niklas Hjalmarsson, has only put up an assist in the same amount of games.

That being said, when you trade one of your top defensemen away for a different one, and make him a healthy scratch this early in the season, it doesn't look good for the GM that made the transaction.

Obviously, this was motivated by the team's precarious salary cap situation, but you can't help but feel disappointed by the trade-off.

It appears that both Franson and Jan Rutta have surpassed him in the depth chart thus far.

How do you feel about this, Hawks fans?
