Dion Phaneuf Excited About GM's Moves

Dion Phaneuf spoke out recently and praised the work that Ottawa Senators’ general manager Pierre Dorion did during the offseason.

 

He was especially ecstatic about trade acquisition Derick Brassard, according to The Score:

 

“He’s a little bit older (than Mike Zibanejad). A little bit more experienced. He produces. Look at the numbers that he puts up. So that was a very big addition.”

 

Moreover, he had this to say about new head coach Guy Boucher:

 

“He loves the game. He’s very detailed in his systems and his structure of the way he has his teams play… So it’s our job to learn those systems and play to his strucute.”

 

Phaneuf was part of a blockbuster trade last season that saw him leave the Toronto Maple Leafs to join the Senators.
