Like many Canadians, Jib Street grew up loving hockey and was a rabid Wayne Gretzky fan. Street considered Gretzky to be his idol and his “hockey hero”, but after having his life literally saved by a fellow beer leaguer during a recent game, Street now has a new hockey hero.

Street collapsed on the ice at the Pineville Ice House in Pineville, North Carolina last month and remained without a pulse for more than 5 minutes after suffering from sudden cardiac arrest.

Thankfully, Dr. Craig Bryant was on the ice with him and was able to use the arena’s in-house defibrillator and CPR to save Street’s life. Bryant is an ER doctor and acted quickly to save his teammates life.

Thankfully, an ER doctor just so happened to be playing in the game. Dr. Craig Bryant immediately performed CPR on Street, and with the help of an AED, Street's life was saved.

Fox 46 in Charlotte, North Carolina obtained footage of the haunting incident and broadcasted it during an exclusive interview with the pair in what they called a "miracle on the ice" that aired on February 9th.

"When I did see the video a couple of days ago, it is difficult to watch yourself go down and lie motionless on the ice," Street explained to FOX 46.

"The gratitude comes from how fast this guy responded-- that’s the miracle. I’m skating with an emergency room doctor."

To show his incredible appreciation towards Dr. Bryant, Street presented him with a signed Wayne Gretzky Edmonton Oilers jersey.
