When you think of the modern Edmonton Oilers you almost automatically associate the name with National Hockey League superstar Connor McDavid, but there is another Oiler that is quietly having a major impact on his franchise.

On Friday night forward Leon Draisaitl took over the goal lead on the Oilers roster by notching his 13th goal of the season, passing McDavid who currently sits at 12 goals on the season.

While he may not be a household name on the national level, locally Draisaitl has become a fan-favorite and for good reason, his sophmore season in the NHL is proving to be a coming out party for the 21 year old forward. His 13 goals are matched by thirteen assists, good for an extremely impressive 26 points in 30 games this season.

Here's the 13th goal.
