“Don't think Montreal is long for 80% of the players I know”

Stories like the one we reported earlier today, about former Habs' coach Mario Tremblay claiming forward Alex Galchenyuk twice received treatment in the NHL’s drug and alcohol program, are sadly pretty common in Montreal. Many people believe this kind of stories are driving players away from Montreal, and are convincing others not to sign here.

It looks like this has been confirmed today, by a player of the Montreal Canadiens himself. According to Sportsnet's Eric Engels, one Hab, who wanted to remain anonymous, said he doesn't think a majority of players he knows would like to play here:

Wow. A lot of people already suspected this would happen, but to have the confirmation of a Habs' player is pretty shocking. This declaration also comes at a bad moment, since the team has been struggling since the start of the season. Many people think Bergevin would probably like to welcome a couple of new players to help, but with such statements it may be a bit harder...

Do you think this kind of declaration could be harmful for the Habs on the long run?
