Dreger: 'I think it's headed to trade.'

There have been a ton of rumors regarding the future of veteran center Kyle Turris, at least as far as his time as an Ottawa Senator is concerned, and now one of the game's top insiders has seemingly confirmed those rumors.

TSN insider Darren Dreger was asked on a recent TSN segment about the failure from the two parties to come to a new deal, and it's quite clear where he believes this is going.

"I think it's headed to trade," said Dreger.

"Trade seems likely."

While he admits that he does not know when the Senators will eventually pull the trigger on a trade for Turris, he does believe that the team can not afford to lose him for nothing at the end of the season.

"They can not allow an important piece like Kyle Turris to walk out as an unrestricted free-agent."

This could explain the Senator's interest in Matt Duchene earlier this summer, and it will also be very interesting to see how they replace Turris if they do indeed make the move to trade him.
