Ducks and Hurricanes agree to trade, but veteran player holds up the transaction

This just in, the Carolina Hurricanes have reportedly agreed to send defensemen Justin Faulk to the Anaheim Ducks. This according to a report from Hurricanes insider Luke DeCock of the Raleigh based News & Observer.

Check it out:

It’s not yet known what the return is for the 27 year old Faulk, but if indeed the Ducks are sending Ondrej Kase back in the deal it seems like a steal fore the Hurricanes. The 23 year old Kase put up 11 goals and 20 points in just 30 games with the Ducks last season and put up 20 goals in just 66 games a season ago.

The hang up of the deal is reportedly to due to a possible contract extension for Faulk.

To be fair though, Faulk is no offensive slouch himself. The offensive blue liner put up 11 goals and 35 points in 82 games with the Hurricanes last season and hit a career high 49 points in 2014-15.

Again, no confirmation on this deal from the team’s yet, so stay tuned for updates.
