The Ducks have a pretty deep roster but it was thinned down a fair bit with the Vegas expansion draft. Both Clayton Stoner and Shea Theodore left the organization and it's now time to plan forward.
This is precisely with the Ducks signed a two-years, 1.8M$ extension with Korbinian Holzer.
Holzer will never be a top pairing type of player, but he knows his role and plays it perfectly. This type of guy makes the difference between having a regular club and a Cup contender. It's a very good move by the management.
