The Anaheim Ducks appear to have lost forward David Perron, who was acquired in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier this season, to a long term upper-body injury.

The official announcement came Monday from Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau who indicated the injury appeared to be to Perron's should area, and while Boudreau gave no official timetable for Perron, it sounds like more of a long-term injury. Perron is currently on his way back to Anaheim so he can undergo further evaluation from team medical personnel.

Perron has played very well since the trade, in 28 games as a Duck this season he has recorded 8 goals and 12 assists, by comparison he had 4 goals and 13 assists in 43 games with the Penguins. His status is now "week to week" according to Bruce Boudreau.
