A curious move from the Las Vegas Golden Knights has many concerned about the status of veteran National Hockey League goaltender Marc Andre Fleury.

According to a breaking news report from Jesse Granger of The Athletic the Golden Knights have made a move to call goaltender Maxime Lagace up from the Chicago Wolves to the main NHL roster. Additionally the Wolves have made the move to call up goaltender Zach Fucale to take the open vacancy left by the departing Lagace. The curious part of this move of course is that the Golden Knights already appear to have two perfectly health goaltenders on their main roster.

Granger reports that, and this is of course only the eye test, during the last Las Vegas Golden Knights practice backup goaltender Malcolm Subban appeared to be perfectly fine which of course leads us to Marc Andre Fleury. The Golden Knights took the the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night and in goal was none other than Fleury himself, a strong performance by all accounts. Fleury stopped all but 2 of the 31 shots that the Canucks directed his way on the night, recording a .935 save percentage in the process and helping lead his team to a 6 - 2 victory over the Canucks.

The good news for Golden Knights fans is that Fleury also appeared to come out of that game unscathed which is why this move seems some peculiar. Given that Fleury was in an actual game last night it seems like he is by far the more likely of the two goaltenders to have suffered some form of injury, but we only have the call up of Lagace to go on at this time.

The move is of course made all the more curious by the fact that it has been made now just hours before the start of a Sunday night contest between the aforementioned Las Vegas Golden Knights and a very tough Calgary Flames team. This would lead you to believe that this was a last minute call on the part of one of the goaltenders on the main roster, although all of this remains speculation at this time.

Stay tuned for more details.
