The St. Louis Blues extended the Calgary Flames’ losing streak to six games last night, but it seems like the blows weren’t done coming that night.

As if the 5-0 loss to the Blues wasn’t enough, the Flames had to deal with another alarming issue last night when mechanical issues forced the team planed to make an emergency landing on the way back to Calgary, according to NHL insider Darren Dreger of TSN.

“A lot of broken parts around this club right now.”

The Flames had just held a players-only meeting before boarding the plane  as Calgary was shut out in their last three road games for the first time in franchise history. The Flames have been outscored 23-5 in their six-game losing streak.

There is a lot of frustration on the roster, but the scary experience of a plane malfunction could have brought the players and staff closer - who knows?

The Flames will face the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and we will see then if the meeting and plane scare brought something out of the players.

We bet head coach Bill Peters could compare the heat he felt in the plane as the same he’s been feeling lately behind the bench…
