The New York Rangers handled a tough blow last week when it was revealed that top forward Mika Zibanejad had suffered a concussion and missed the team's last two games.

Little update had been given on his condition, and we all know things can change quickly when players are affected by concussion symptoms, but the young forward was on an exercise bike on Monday, which is certainly an encouraging sign.

The 24-year-old will still be evaluated on a day to day basis, but the fact that he is starting the first steps to getting back on the ice should be a good sign for the Rangers and their fans.

Losing Zibanejad is an immediate crisis for the Rangers. He’s gracefully stepped into Derek Stepan‘s former role this season with sparkling offensive play. Zibanejad has 11 goals and 11 assists for a total of 22 points in 24 games this season.
