Evander Kane abortion lawsuit just got even uglier.

It seems like National Hockey League star Evander Kane just simply can not keep himself out of trouble.

Back in November a report from TMZ Sports revealed that Kane was being sued for a whopping $3 million dollars by an anonymous woman who claimed that Kane had offered to pay her the staggering sum of money in exchange for her undergoing a medical procedure. That procedure was an abortion and according to TMZ it was the 3rd time that Kane had requested the anonymous female have her pregnancy terminated. After the first 2 terminations the woman had decided that she wanted to keep her unborn child and that is when Kane, allegedly, encouraged her to do so by offering the huge sum of money. The woman now claims that Kane never paid up and that is why she is now seeking damages.

The woman, likely looking to avoid publicity, has filed the lawsuit under the pseudonym of "Jane Doe" and now Kane's legal team are seeking to force her to reveal her identity. According to a new report from TMZ Sports on Monday Kane's legal representation is now seeking to force the woman to give up her identity if she wants to move forward with this lawsuit.

From TMZ Sports:

Kane has previously denied the allegations -- and now he's filed new legal docs asking the judge to throw out the case.

In his papers, Kane argues that even if he did agree to the $3 million deal, it was made in a private, consensual sexual setting and the court has no authority to enforce it.

He also argues that since he's not accused of committing a crime, the accuser should not be able to hide behind an alias -- and if the case moves forward, she should use her real name instead of Jane Doe.

TMZ is calling this an obvious strategy on the part of Kane. TMZ believes that Kane is seeking to have the judge reveal her name because there is a greatest risk she will drop the suit for fear of embarrassment if she is indeed forced to do so. I'd like to give Kane the benefit of the doubt here but given his track record, including when it comes to incidents involving women, is not exactly the best.
