In case you missed it, the NBA has effectively shut down today after multiple teams have elected to protest in light of recent events in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The NBA's Milwaukee Bucks were the first team to effectively forfeit their game in order to raise awareness for the issues of police brutality and racial inequality, but it didn't take long for the league's other teams to follow suit.

The MLB's Milwaukee Brewers also elected to sit out their game tonight and several other MLB teams have joined them in solidarity.

As it currently stands, the NHL has no plans to go dark this evening, but they will observe a moment of silence prior to the singing of the National Anthems this evening. The NHL issued a statement via Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly after the Milwauke Bucks and other teams refused to take the court of tonight's game. In it Daly says that the NHL does not expect the league to initiate a stoppage, but that the players have the right to express themselves.

Check it out:

"I don’t expect the League to initiate a game stoppage. Obviously, our Players are free to express themselves in any manner they feel is appropriate."

To the members of the league's Hockey Diversity Alliance (HDA) though, that's simply not enough. HDA members Evander Kane and Matt Dumba have specifically called for NHL players to act and show solidarity and support for their fellow athletes in the NBA and MLB.

For what it's worth, the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning both took their regular warmup skate for tonight's Game 3, which is scheduled to begin at about 8:10pm ET. Standby to see if that changes.
