Every Golden Knights pick from the 2017 NHL Entry Draft

Another day, another historic moment for the NHL’s newest franchise.

When Vegas Golden Knights general manager George McPhee stepped to the podium in Chicago to announce his team’s first ever selection in the NHL Entry Draft, he could hardly believe his luck. Concerned he wouldn’t be able to land coveted prospect Cody Glass at 6th overall, McPhee had been working feverishly to trade up in the draft and secure the 18 year-old sniper. Ultimately, his efforts were in vain, as Glass remarkably fell to the Golden Knights at the 6th overall selection.

“Really excited about what we were able to accomplish,” said McPhee on the selection. “We had him in the top five,” said McPhee. 

And McPhee wasn’t done there, with two additional picks in the first round ( 13 and 15), the Golden Knights had arguably the best performance of any team at the draft podium. At 13th overall the team selected sniper Nick Suzuki and at 15th overall they selected defenseman Erik Brannstrom. The trio figure to be fixtures on a young Vegas roster in the very near future.
