The April 12th trade deadline is just around the corner and we don’t know what it will look like with the shortened season and flattened salary cap.
Many teams are tight in their wallets and if they look to make a trade, they will need to shed salary in return.
This will make for an interesting trade deadline day.
And that’s how New York Islanders head coach Barry Trotz sees it. On Friday, the Isles bench boss predicted that the last hour and a half on trade deadline day will be a busy one, per team insider Arthur Staples of The Athletic:
“I think not a lot is going to happen and then there’s going to be a fire sale in the last hour and a half (on April 12). That’s what I think.”
As Staple warns other teams: plan accordingly.
