As part of their series of predictions for the upcoming season, The Hockey News’ Matt Larkin has provided his list of the NHL’s top 10 Rocket Richard Trophy candidates for 2017-18.

At the top of his list? That would be 19-year-old Winnipeg Jets super sniper Patrik Laine. Rounding out the top three threats are Tampa Bay Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov and Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews

So, who else is a threat to top the league in goal-scoring next year? How about last season’s reigning champion Sidney Crosby? Or St. Louis Blues sniper Vladimir Tarasenko? Don’t count out Lightning captain Steven Stamkos, as well. He was on fire before another injury derailed him early last season.

Rounding out the bottom of Larkin’s list is Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand and teammate David Pastrnak. Alex Ovechkin is always a threat and Patrick Kane can fill the net with the best of them. Of course there’s also wild cards like Connor McDavid, Tyler Seguin and Jack Eichel in the mix. Who do you think will win the Rocket Richard Trophy as the league’s top scorer next season?
