That’s just not right… or is it?!

Most NHL fans appreciated when Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby made headlines yesterday when he had the best answer to a guy chirping at him during the Pens' 7-2 win over the New York Rangers. A fan who was sitting next to the penalty box was gifted a stick from Crosby simply because he laid into the Penguins captain so well.

We can appreciate that and have a good laugh.

This Finnish stick company might have been inspired by the Penguins’ captain but what they decided to do sure seems so brutal. On Wednesday, when Finland beat team Canada, earning a 2-1 overtime victory to eliminate Canada from the 2019 World Junior Championships on home soil, there was a lot of things from the game that were tough to swallow.

One of them: Finland scored during on an odd-man rush in overtime — which happened after defenseman Noah Dobson’s stick broke on a one-timer in the opposing end. Dobson’s stick splintered in two, just like the hearts of many Canadians.

So unfair. However, a Finnish stick company decided to send a new stick for Canada’s Dobson following World Juniors upset…

That’s kinda of uncalled for… But in hockey, some people will say this might be a great chirp from Finland, who will face Switzerland tonight in the semi-finals.

The company did send a very nice letter along with the stick, stating that they could understand how unfair it is to have your stick break at the worst moment possible and wanted him to have this PAMA PHX Carbon stick as he goes on in his hockey career. The company also wished him all the best for the rest of his season.

Maybe Karma will get back and haunt them or maybe Dobson will indeed take another look at the type of sticks he uses on the ice...
