The New Jersey Devils have made some significant changes off the ice, and as a result one of the National Hockey League's pioneers is no longer with the organization.

According to a report from the New York Daily News, Sherry Ross, the first female broadcaster to provide game analysis for a Stanley Cup Finals match up has been released by the Devils organization. Ross was not fired and her contract was not terminated, it was simply not renewed by the Devils.

From the New York Daily News:

The Devils confirmed Ross' departure to NJ.com after she revealed the news Tuesday on her Twitter page, but she declined further comment when reached by phone on Wednesday.

"I wish nothing but the best for the Devils players and coaches," Ross had tweeted. "But keep an eye on eBay for lots of NJD merchandise on sale soon!"

It's hard to say if Ross will be looking for a new opportunity in the NHL as she has been very tight lipped about her dismissal, but regardless of what she does next we wish her all the best on her future endeavors.
