The New Jersey Devils have officially signed the number one pick in the 2017 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

From the Devils' press release:

The New Jersey Devils today signed the first-overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, Nico Hischier, to the maximum three-year, entry-level contract for salary ($925,000 AAV) and performance bonuses. The announcement was made by Devils' Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

Hischier is the first ever first overall pick in the history of the New Jersey Devils franchise, and he is also the first ever Swiss-born player to be picked at #1 in the draft as well. 

The Devils also revealed Hischier's new number, and you can see that in the image below courtesy of the Devils.
