With the seventh overall pick, the Buffalo Sabres have selected centre Dylan Cozens on Friday night at the Draft in Vancouver.

The lanky center becomes the first ever first round selection from the Yukon territory in Northern Canada and it’s clear to see why. The 6 foot, 3 inch, 185 pound center finished his season with an impressive 34 goals and 84 points in 68 games for the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes.

"A long, powerful stride drives his elite speed. He’s a complete player with skill to burn in a sizable frame,” says Cam Robinson of Dobber Prospects when describing Cozens. “Cozens owns an accurate and heavy release and uses that threat to look-off defenders and slide crisp passes into his mate’s wheelhouses."
